{"id":6,"date":"2011-12-10T15:10:07","date_gmt":"2011-12-10T14:10:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ireneb.com\/newpage\/?page_id=6"},"modified":"2023-03-26T15:33:42","modified_gmt":"2023-03-26T19:33:42","slug":"biography","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ireneb.com\/newpage\/biography\/","title":{"rendered":"Biography"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If <strong>IreneB<\/strong>\u2019s career could be defined by a word, it would have to be \u201cperseverance\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">The Spaniard artist had been studying music since she was only 6, listening to R&amp;B since she can remember &amp; she also graduated in Modern Music and Jazz in 2005. But it wasn\u2019t until 2006, well into her twenties, when she released her first EP, <em>\u201cMi Realidad\u201d,<\/em> that launched her debut in the music industry of today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">After this release, everything caught up faster than the speed of light. She met multi-platinum producer <strong>Frankie Biggz<\/strong>, with whom she recorded, between Miami &amp; Orlando, <em>\u201cMetamorphosis\u201d<\/em> (Rama Music, 2009), her debut album. That album would make her the first Spaniard to ever release an English R&amp;B album worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Moving to Orlando in 2007, where she established her home for over 4 years, she was encouraged by the excellent response and success of the 3 singles released off <em>\u201cMetamorphosis\u201d<\/em> in both terrestrial &amp; online radio around the world. She embarked on a tour that took her to perform in her hometown Barcelona, Madrid, several cities in Germany, United Kingdom &amp; most of the US territory (including Miami, Orlando, Chicago, Atlanta &amp; Detroit, amongst others).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">As if that wasn\u2019t enough, <strong>IreneB<\/strong> was also featured in four songs for <em>\u201cNow Is The Time\u201d<\/em> (Heads Up, 2010), legendary keyboard player Jeff Lorber\u2019s album, that later in 2010 would receive a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Contemporary album<\/span>. Being that the most important nomination she\u2019s received up until today, it\u2019s not been the only one, as it was thanks to <em>\u201cMetamorphosis\u201d<\/em> that she would earn <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">two nominations to the prestigious Premios de la Musica in 2009 (Best New Artist &amp; Best Pop Album)<\/span> &amp; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">five nominations for the independent music awards Premios de la Musica Independiente in 2010 (Best Urban Album, Best New Artist, Spanish Artist of the Year, Album of the Year &amp; Song Of the Year).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Three years after, and back to her beloved hometown, Barcelona (Spain), IreneB fires back with&nbsp;<em>\u201cWelcome Back\u201d<\/em>, an intimate collection of songs and sounds that remind us of singers and groups IreneB has listened to since she was a child, those who shaped her essence as a singer: Mariah Carey, Aaliyah, TLC and Boyz II Men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Her new album is, in IreneB\u2019s words, <em>\u201ca nineties R&amp;B music tribute album; it is what I always<\/em><br><em> wanted to do and I am finally able to\u201d<\/em>. With <em>&#8220;Metamorphosis&#8221;<\/em>, her first record, we witnessed&nbsp;IreneB&#8217;s transformation; with <em>&#8220;Welcome Back,&#8221;<\/em> we experience a more mature artist, that&nbsp;experiments with different registers and textures in her voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If IreneB\u2019s career could be defined by a word, it would have to be \u201cperseverance\u201d.
